Pun Hlaing Estate, Pun Hlaing Golf Club & Step-in Step-up launched Pun Hlaing Academy to Encourage Human Capital Development


Pun Hlaing Estate Academy (PHE Academy), a flagship training programme specially designed with sustainable human capital development, was launched on 13 July 2020, in partnership with Step-in Step-up a strategic impact organization.


The training programme is open to all employees and will equip them with personal and workplace competencies and know-how that bridges the skills gap currently facing the country. The training is conducted at Step-in Step-up offices located at Pun Hlaing Estate.


Personal and Workplace competencies include:

  • Customer Service

  • Housekeeping

  • Product Knowledge

  • Team Building

  • Interpersonal Skills

  • Hygiene Training

  • Caddie Conversations

  • Supervisor Training

  • Respectful Workplace (Female and Male)

  • Orientation

  • Basic First Aid & AED Training

Opened to all employees, the training seeks to offer long term growth and opportunities for the employees. Employee may also choose to attend training in areas they would be interested to develop their career in the future.


In a joint statement by Mrs. Jackie Appel (Founder of Step-in Step-up), Mr. Jonathan Hegarty (General Manager of Pun Hlaing Estate) and Mr. Stephen Chick (Golf Director of Pun Hlaing Golf Club) said, “PHE Academy gives the employee an opportunity to plan a long-term future within the company and expand their skills and knowledge.”
